Not in a bad way, but in way where my mind is in a hundred different places at once.
The church I work at (in the youth ministry department) is gearing up for our BIG (I repeat, big!) student weekend coming up on February 7-10! It's the biggest event we do all year long. No lie.
If you are familiar with the term "Disciple Now," then this is basically what this weekend is for us. We just call it Freedom Weekend instead. If you're not familiar...Let me enlighten you some :)
Imagine 1,000 students (ages 12-18) coming together for a massive weekend dedicated to worshiping our Savior and growing in their faith. These students invite their friends who may not have a relationship with Christ and we see their lives changed forever as they decide to follow Christ for the first time. Other students surrender their hearts to serve Christ with their lives in full-time ministry. Others who have maybe forgotten what it's like to serve Christ daily are reminded and get back on track.
The students are placed in small groups with a small group leader for the weekend. And they stay in homes throughout the metroplex. It's a time for them to escape the norm of everyday life and just focus on Christ for a whole weekend.
It is high energy. High evangelism. Loads of fun. Loud music. And life changing.
It is really like nothing I've ever seen or been a part of before.
Perhaps you can imagine now the kind of work that goes into getting ready for something like this.
So if you wonder where I am until after February 10th...Now you know :)
Check out this video below to get a small taste of what I'm working daily towards.
Have a great Monday!
